This Week's Pairing:

"Low" Volume One " The Delirium of Hope" - Written by Rick Remender; Art by Greg Tocchini- Published by Image Comics

Blind Faith- English India Pale Ale- 6.2% Alcohol By Voume (ABV)- Magic Hat Brewing Company, South Burlington, VT USA

Do you remember as a kid in science class when your teacher told you that in five billion years the sun will explode and destroy our solar system? The story of "Low" takes place seventy-five years from that event. The imbiber who takes on this pairing will need some Hope and a little Blind Faith to get them through.

Our pairing begins with the simplicity of story concept to the appropriately titled craft beer. "Low" is a story of hope, when all things point to giving up and giving in, those who rise above have hope. Blind faith, believing in the unseen and intangible; daring to follow a path regardless of how treacherous; the belief that in the end all will be well, all one simply needs to do persevere.

At first pour you are greeted by a dark golden color with amber and yellow highlights depending on how the light hits the glass; the head is quality but dissipates quickly. The aroma is fruity with a hop essence. The taste is sweet with that little bite you expect from an IPA. It's medium bodied and has a tangy after taste. It's flavor is distinct, you could easily pick this one out blind folded. The 6.2% Alcohol by Volume is perfect, allowing the temptation of a second glass to be an easy decision for the imbiber.

Rick Remender pens a story that will challenge the most faithful, a story that makes hope feel like a commodity that only a few can afford. Greg Tocchini's seascapes are beautiful, his art style poetic and mesmerizing. I'm a huge fan of both writer and artist, making this book extra special in my humble opinion.

Millennia ago, mankind fled the earth's surface into the bottomless depths of the darkest oceans. Shielded from a merciless sun's scorching radiation, the human race tried to stave off certain extinction by sending robotic probes far into the galaxy, to search for a new home among the stars. Generations later, one family is about to be torn apart, in a conflict that will usher in the final race to save humanity from a world beyond hope. Dive into an aquatic fantasy that brings you the tale mankind's final hour in the cold, deathly dark of the sea.

If your looking for a story of hope in a seemingly hopeless world, and a craft beer you can believe in, then give "Low" and Blind Faith a try.

Until next week read and consume responsibly.
